ORPHEUS IN TORONTO

ORPHEUS: hair greasy and mottled, drunk
leaned against Simpsons' window
like a belligerent punk

on one side the man who plays three-string guitar
with his mitty; on the other
the woman who pushes swedish socialism

Orpheus' head leans
he falls into the gutter.
She bends to help
he barfs into her dress,

he's ten thousand miles from home
in a cold country
and they are light years from a home
and in the wrong millennium
