I am a Christian, but I am disobeying the Lord and not happy. Can you help me?

ANSWER: I am not surprised that you are not happy, you shouldn’t be. Disobedience always brings unhappiness and as you go on it could become much worse. Obedience is the way to being happy in the Lord. Isa 1:19,20 puts it well;   "If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."

There is a principle all through the Bible that God stated to king Saul, 1 Samuel 15:22 "And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."

Your course of disobedience is a hard one. You are not happy away from the Lord and the way is hard.   Proverbs 13:15 "Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard"   You have two choices; one is to go on in your unhappy disobedience, which dishonours the Name of our Saviour, and eventually bring chastening by the Lord, or repent of your acts of disobedience and get right with the Lord. The Lord does not bless disobedience, but is ever ready to forgive and restore His people. He requires real repentance on your part. Prov. 28:13, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." Again, Prov. 28:14 "Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief." To “fear the Lord means you respect and obey Him. God protect those that do. Psm 34: 7 "The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them." Acts of disobedience removes the angel and exposes you to Satan and all his cohorts.

Dear reader, are you also a professing Christians and living is disobedience, which is sin? You too, are most unhappy, not enjoying the world or the Lord.

This verse was spoken to God’s people, Isa. 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
