Are the offices of apostles and prophets still available today?

ANSWER: I was just reading today, Heb 1:1,2,  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.
Prophets in Bible days were men who had special revelations from God and either told the message to someone or recorded it in the Bible. We have this in 2 Peter 1: 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  
These prophets were how God gave us the inspired Word of God.  Since the Word was completed in Revelation there are no more prophets with special revelations.  God can enlighten and guide us, but not reveal unknown and new truth to us apart from the Bible.  This type of thing is what has produced all the cults and false prophets in our day.  Deut. 29: 29  The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
The early apostles and prophets  were given special authority and gifts to plant the New Testament Church which the Lord has been building this past 2000 years. They laid the foundation of it and wrote the New Testament. Eph. 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
They recorded much that the Lord Jesus taught while here on earth.  Revelations to prophets and apostles ceased when their work was done in the Book of Revelation.  Rev. 22:18 warns against added anything from it.
All false cults are all built on someone having a new revelation from God.  This is dangerous, because it is often contrary to what God has already revealed in His word.
Another grave danger is the modern method of mediation, especially the “Be Still DVD,” where people get fresh new revelations of God apart from mediating on His word.  This Be Still doctrine is being use by the New Age and Word of Faith Movements to discover the god that they are, and that is in them.  Beware of this, many evangelicals are slipping away in this so called Christian form of mediating, which in principle, is the same as Zen Buddhist and Transcendental Meditation, which is heathenish.  They say they are discovering God by an altered consciousness.  This is very dangerous because it leaves one open to any spirit.  Prov. 25:28  He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
