Revisit the 1997 Robin Trower Tour

The summer of 1997 was very kind to Robin Trower fans across the U.S. The man himself played in various venues around the states, mostly in medium-sized clubs, supporting his then new CD 'Someday Blues'.

After you're finished here, make sure you boot over to the 1997 Tour Pics Page for a look at the action. There's a ton of great photos of Robin soloing, singing and even a shot of his gear!

The band comprised a three-piece unit with Robin Trower on guitar/vocals, Livingstone Brown on bass/vocals, and Alvino Bennett on drums.

According to Gary Larson (who attended the June 21 gig at San Juan Capistrano), Trower had three Fender Strats on stage, but only used two. The first was a brown tobacco sunburst Strat which he played for the bulk of the show (13 songs). The second was a metallic blue jobbie which he used for Secret Place, and the third was a Cream Fender Strat for a backup.

RT's pedal setup consisted of a Vox Wah, a Full Drive 2 and a stereo Fulltone Deja Vibe--all mounted to a Fulltone Pedal board/roadcase made by Michael Fuller of Fulltone. Trower's amps were a Fender Hot Rod Deville 212 with one external Fender speaker cab, and a Marshall JCM 800 Lead head with 2 slanted half-stack Marshall speaker cabs.

Gary also runs a very informative Trower site, so why don't you pay him visit when you get a chance.

For the time being, you can check out a Real Audio recording of the entire June 18 House Of Blues on Sunset Strip show at LiveConcerts.com. Use the Concert Search list box to scroll alphabetically down to Robin Trower, and you'll see a listing for June 18. 1997.
