Trower CDs Availability

Well, it seems that the rest of the world is finally catching up to we Trower-philes! After fans seeing titles released on CD over the last few years, then summarily deleted, there are now a few companies out there who are again re-issuing much of RT's work. The brighest news is that BGO records has released (or is in the process of releasing) double CDs, each with two of RT's classic albums (click on a cover at right for a larger look). 'Twice Removed From Yesterday' is paired with 'Bridge Of Sighs', 'Live!' is paired with 'For Earth Below', 'Caravan To Midnight' is paired with 'Victims Of The Fury' (all available now), and on April 29, 1997 'Long Misty Days' paired with 'In City Dreams' will be released. According to my sources, these are all available on BGO, but there are also listings for some of them on MSI/EMD in the U.K. If you want ot get your hands on a copy, the people at CD Now have them all listed at their site. In addition, Holland seems to have jumped into the fray with virtually the entire early catalog, including the previously deleted 'Twice Removed From Yesterday'! A number of companies are distributing from Holland with Rigu (not sure if that's the exact name or an abbreviation) leading the way. EMI, BMG and Munich are exporting from The Netherlands. You can check out CD Europe for these titles. As far as I know, Trower fans can still get pressings of most of RT's CDs from 1974 to 1980 from Chrysalis Records Canada and U.S., even though some have been deleted in other countries. I had contacted Chrysalis directly and was told that 'Victims Of The Fury' and 'In City Dreams' were being removed from the catalog, but enough visitors have E-Mailed saying they can still get them, that it's probably safe to assume they're still being pressed. And, to answer those who've asked, 'Twice Removed' is still deleted as a Canadian or U.S. title. Other non-compilation and non-live Trower CDs still available from other companies are 'Truce' from One Way Records, 'Passion' from GNP/Crescendo and '20th Century Blues' from V-12. I believe 'In The Line Of Fire', 'Take What You Need', 'Beyond The Mist', 'Back It Up', 'No Stopping' and 'B.L.T.' are still deleted worldwide, so if you see any copies, grab 'em! So, as far as I know, here's a list of the titles that are still available and those that are now out of print.

A few possibilities for Trower CDs on the 'Net are CDEurope, CDNow, ABCD's and EMusic. CDEurope is much pricier but lists an extremely wide selection (over 30 titles). CDNow is a good affordable source, and ABCD's and EMusic are reasonable but only list the more mainstream releases (try these three first, then if you can't find the one you're after, check CDEurope).
