What's New?

Sadly, as most of us know, Robin Trower vocalist James Dewar passed away at age 59 on Thursday May 16, 2002 at Dykebar Hospital in the UK of pneumonia (my apologies to those who read this notice in the last month--I was initially told he passed away from complications due to a stroke). Dewar had been ill for years, but his death is still shocking and tragic to his millions of fans. James was thought of as one of the most talented and stylized "pure vocalists" in rock history. His voice moved everyone, and literally had no duplicate or equal. I've posted a Tribute and Report on James Dewar's Passing. Feel free to check it out, and thank you to all who wrote--it is greatly appreciated. But, this is a time of sadness, and we must allow ourselves to mourn and remember the incredible James Dewar . . . each in our own way. My most sincere condolences go out to his family, friends, and bandmates. Dewar's career and life were cut short so unfairly, and the world was robbed of one the finest persons and musicians to walk this earth.

Wow! There's a fantastic new book available called "Gallagher, Marriott, Derringer & Trower - Their Lives And Music" by Canadian author Dan Muise. It's a truly excellent offering that every Trower fan should have in their collection. The research is unbelievable and the book is praised by RT's management! Wander over to the Trower Tidbits section for a full description, cover photo, and all the info you'll need to order. This is not a plug or an "ad". This book is the work of a devoted rock fan and top-notch author, and its in-depth coverage of some of the masters of rock and roll is long overdue!

There's a bunch of updates and additions that I've finally got around to posting. Thanks to all for your patience :-). First off, there's updated info on Trower-related Web Sites in the RT News and Rumours section. Links to the official Robin Trower site, and Bill Lordan's and Davey Pattison's sites.

A revamped Classic Rock Links section, so there's no dead URLs and some new ones to boot.

I've posted some more Trower interviews in the Trower Tidbits section. There's some very interesting material here ranging from 1972 to 2000, so check 'em out if you like.

There's some new pictures in the Robin Trower Scrapbook, incuding a shot of Davey Pattison & RT on stage, some more individual shots of The Man, and even Bill Lordan's autograph! Just look for the word "New!" beside each icon and you'll find 'em. BTW--I've lost the names and E-Mail addresses of the people who've submitted the recent pics, so if you're one of them, please get in touch with me so I can give credit where it's due.

I've also done a minor update on the Rogue's Gallery Of Guitar Greats section, and included a number of classic players on a "to-do" list to add to the Gallery.

There's been some housecleaning and additions to the New Horizon's Section of the Robin Trower Timeline. I've added Trower's most recent original releases plus a few compilation CDs I'd missed.

Make sure you subscribe to the Trower Power newsletter published by RT's management. Details in the RT News and Rumours section.

Those who you who have visited the site over the last few months (and years) know that I've had trouble finding the time to keep the site updated as far as concert listings, breaking news and the like. I apologize to all Trower fans for this, but I run this site primarily as a hobby and just don't have the time to tend to it the wasy I would ideally like.

So, I've decided to stop trying to make this a totally "current" site and instead, focus on being more of Trower tribute and archival site. There will still be all the album listings, info, reviews and general stuff on the man, but as far as being an absolutely up-to-the-minute resource, I just don't have the time. I'll still find a way to post various bits of new info, but there is a fair amount of Trower material compiled here over the years. I hope you find lots that will interest you.

In the same vein, due to the volume of E-Mail I'm receiving, I'm sorry to say I will no longer be able to reply regularly. It would take about 7 or 8 hours a week to answer everyone in any detail. I still welcome your comments, feedback and info. I read all the messages I get. If anything needs to be posted, I'll do my best to get it up here. Thanks!
