Those religious people, they don't understand.
Our hearts are restless, O Lord, with questions
and the answers can't be anything more than
conjecture or suggestions-- and they themselves
lead to more speculation. Division
is caused by dogma; Hatred, by absolutes.
But that's just my opinion. Those religious
people, they have no thoughts of their own,
just their regurgitated bible verses, and their
so-called degrees from non-prestigious
bible colleges, that earn
a snicker among
people of distinction.

Happily, most churches haven't
followed their cue. Even some
Catholic churches are smarter
than that. Now, the layperson
in the pew is free to make up his own mind
as to what is or isn't true. Just too bad
the rest of society hasn't caught on.
There's a great big world of ideas
waiting for them, bigger than
the typical god-talk. Anyone
with a brain can become
an enlightened citizen,
a critical thinker.

Because that's what it's all about:
Feeding one's doubt
with doubt.
