the proper haircut
and the bland dark suit
reminds us so much of ourselves
it makes us sick

the truth is nobody loves you
for who you are
and for who you aren't

your less than enthusiastic support of abortion
your desire for the democratic will
we can't have that now
even if it's what we believe in

we want a god
not a prophet
certainly not
a fundamentalist
for democracy
