SALVATION QUESTION 85

QUESTION 85
There are some people who are pretty good living people who can easily be saved, but I can't, because I am too great a sinner.

ANSWER:
Though you have not asked a question, you are likely looking for an answer. Your understanding of the mercy and grace of God and the extent of the sacrifice of Christ, is too limited.

When Christ died for sin and sinners, it included every one of them, the big sins and big sinners, and the little sins and little sinners. Paul felt he was the "chief of sinners." He wrote in, 1 Timothy 1:15, "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." The Pharisees never had anything good to say about the Lord, but some things they said were good. Luke 15:2, "And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them." In Matthew 11:19), they accused Him of being "....a friend of publicans and sinners...' Whatever your sin might be, 1 John 1:7 says, , "....and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." If you are a great and terrible sinner, you are a perfect example of a person for whom He died. He said in John 6:37,"...and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." Under no circumstances will He ever turn away any sinner, for He is the sinner's Saviour.

Dear reader, do not let the devil deceive you into thinking you are too sinful to be saved. Just come to Him by faith, receive the forgiveness of sins, and the gift of eternal life, today. He saves you from your sins, He saves you from the final penalty, which is hell. Do trust Him today?
