SALVATION QUESTION 59

QUESTION 59
My brother wants to know if God is so loving, why did he let someone like Hitler kill all of those Jews?

ANSWER:
This is a common question that people ask. If you had a son that went out and started killing people could society blame you? You could stop him if you shot him, but would that be right?

The Jewish people are God's chosen people to inherit the land of Palestine. He has made promises to them that He will keep. He told them in Deuteronomy 28 that if they obeyed Him they would be blessed with many blessings, but if they disobeyed they would be cursed.

What Hitler did to them was likely God's judgment on them. There were Amorites and other cites that sinned against the Lord in the Old Testament. They were ripe for judgment, but God waited many years until Joshua and the people went into the land and destroyed them all. God used Joshua and his army to bring His judgment on them for their idolatry and immorality, Romans 1:19 1 Kings 21:26. And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

This casting out was God's judgment upon them for their terrible sins of idolatry and immorality. God's judgment on Israel for their disobedience is recorded all through the Old Testament. He has dealt with them since and there will come a time soon on earth called Jacob's Troubles. Jeremiah 30:7. "Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it."

What about you? Are you ready to meet God? Calvary is the only meeting place now or the great while throne later. Which? Take Christ today.
