SALVATION QUESTION 49

QUESTION 49
What if you have salvation, but then get amnesia. Will you just forget about Christ, his death, his resurrection, and not be saved anymore?

ANSWER:
Thank God that the salvation He gives, He is able to perform. There are many scriptures I could give but maybe not a better one than, Philippians 1:6, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." God is not a loser. When He saved a person He would fail, as a Saviour, if He then lost them. Plus God would not saved a person to begin with if He could lose again. Philippians 1:6, the Holy Spirit starts that good work in a believer and He WILL PERFORM IT right up to the day Christ comes.

The Son of God is the Provider by His death, burial and resurrection for us. The Holy Spirit is the Producer as in the verse above. The Father is the Perfecter of that work. Philippians 2:12-13, "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

The person in view is in a state of innocency. They are not capable mentally or verbally to believe and confessing Christ any longer. Hebrews 7:25 "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them." The word "uttermost" means "completely, perfectly, utterly." This is why YOU can trust Christ as your Saviour. It does not depend on you, but it does depend on your trusting Christ to save you.
