My question is, can a person be a Christian and be a homosexual? Personally I think this would be an oxymoron. What are your thoughts?

ANSWER:
We have to be careful in making snap judgments. In the Bible there are general statements, such as Hebrews 9:27, “It is appointed unto man once to die. . ..”This is a general statement that is not true of all, without exceptions . In the Rapture many Christians will not die. Again the Bible says, “There is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:10. Again, this is not true of many that are justified (declared to be righteous) by God, Romans 5:1; 2 Corinthians 5:21.

In 1 Corinthians 6:9 we read, “ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,...” The words effeminate and abuser of themselves sure can be applied to homosexuals. This is a general statement that is not true of all, as there are exceptions. In the previous chapter there was a man that was committing fornication, 1 Corinthians 5:1, and it is quite clear that he was saved 1 Corinthians 5:5.

If a homosexual repents of that sin and trusted Christ they would be saved. They must turned from that sin. I do not believe anybody can be saved IN their known sins. They must repent and turn from sins to Christ for salvation. However, after being saved ten years he might fall into that sin again, then he would scripturally still be saved like the fornicator of 1 Corinthians 5:1,1 Corinthians 5:5.
