CHURCH TRUTHS QUESTION 1

QUESTION 1:
Women were told to ask their husbands about God's words

ANSWER:
We are too apt to fit our traditional beliefs in the word of God, instead of just listening and obeying what it says.

First, the suggestion it was only married women in 1 Corinthians 14:35, is not a general statement. The word "husband" is used only 50 times of them and 156 times it is just translated "man." It is a word with a masculine gender, just to separate it from a female.

In any event 1 Corinthians 14:34 says they should be silent in the churches. It was not a local problem, but "churches" being in the plural means it was the common practice elsewhere. 1 Timothy 2:9 In this latter verse it is said that she is to be silence and not in a place of authority.

Now the women is not inferior, in any way, other that physically, to the man. The reason is God's order in Creation was lost when Eve got into the place of authority of the man and listened to Satan and when she sinned she gave the forbidden fruit to Adam. This is clearly understood from 1 Timothy 2:9. If we are going to learn anything about a church we have to get it from Paul. He had the original blueprint (1 Corinthians 3:10) No other New Testament writer gives us any detail about a church.

In 1 Corinthians 11:3, he gives them the order in the assembly and he goes back to creation to get it. The silent and covered woman and the  uncovered man speaking about Christ, his Head, is God way of restoring in a local assembly what was lost in the Fall. The headship order is clear that man is the head of the woman and Christ the head of man and God the head of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:3,

Any order apart from this is traditional and unscriptural. Surely Christian should want to please God in all things.
