READ: Heb. 5:12
PURPOSE: To set forth N.T.
guidelines  for us in an evil day

THE WORD:  Principles  7 times
  4-"elements"=Gal 4:3,7=,2 Pet. 3:10,12
  2-"rudiments" Col.2:8,20;   1-:principles Heb 5:12

MEANING: First steps in a row or
series. (march in rank) order or
    arrangement

ILLUST: Like policies in a Party  or rules in a company.

          FIVE BASIS PRINCIPLES

1) ONENESS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST
                         Eph. 4:4
[a] Denominationism is a denial of this.

2) HEADSHIP OF CHRIST   1 Cor. 11:3
[a] Clergyism is a denial of this.

3) PRIESTHOOD OF ALL BELIEVERS
                        1 Pet 2:5
Not this liberty in the systems

4) LIBERTY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
                  Acts 13:2; 20:28

5) AUTHORITY OF THE WORD OF GOD   2 Tim 3:16
[a] covenants, creeds, etc. deny this.

A PRINCIPLE TO HOLD-not to gather to

1)   ONENESS OF THE BODY
  "I will build..." Matt 16:18
"There is one body" Eph. 4:4
  Eph 2:14-16 Rom. 12:4,5;
Church of God   1 Cor 10:32
Churches of God 1 Cor 11:16

Local is an expression of the whole
SEE: 1 Cor 12:12,13 "We" the whole
      "    "    27  "Ye" the local
     Eph 2:21       "ALL" the whole
         2:22       "Ye"  the local

         PRACTICES TO KEEP

The unity of the Spirit Eph. 4:2
Keep it, we cannot make it and it cannot be broken 1 Cor 12:13

HOW DO WE KEEP THIS UNITY?

1) By recognizing every believer as  part of that body--individually-
    not their systems

2) By calling ourselves Christians only. sad so many "BRETHREN"

3) By receiving to the assembly all that the Lord adds. Acts 2:41, 46
Rom 15:7- not "because" by "AS"  the Lord received us.

4) By using the One load and One Cup in the Lord's Supper 1 Cor 10:
   16,17
5) By a mutual care one for another  1 Cor 12:25
