# 13  HEADSHIP OF CHRIST

READ: Lk. 20:17-Acts 4:11-1Pet 2:7

INTRO:As Son of Man He has acquired  a four-fold headship.
 Certain principle employed in Him  being the Head of the assembly.

1--HEAD OF THE CORNER--Acts 4:11
 All the purposes of God fulfilled  in Him.--Joining two walls--Not   just the Church--Eph 1:10

2--HEAD OF PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS
 Col 2:10--Angelic world

3--HEAD OF THE CHURCH AS HIS BODY
 Eph 1:22--4:15--5:23--Col 1:18

4--HEAD OF THE MAN IN THE ASSEMBLY
 1 Cor. 11:3--strictly speaking
    Three-fold Headship

 HEAD OF THE MAN IN THE ASSEMBLY

Not like the Queen being the Head

          PRACTICE YOU KEEP

Col 2:19  "Not holding the Head"
 [a] Giving place to fleshly   wisdom--angels--
 [b] Following the traditions of   men--20,21
 This is held symbolically by the   physical heads of all

 THREE "HEADS & GLORIES"
Glory of the woman--Hair-v.15
Glory of the man--woman-v.8
Glory of God--man V.8
 These should all be given to  Christ and He in turn give them   to God-Eph 3:21

IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THIS WE MUST

1--HE MUST BE THE LORD OF EACH BELIEVER
 1 Cor.  "Lord" 69 times--Lordship  means each bow to Him as Lord

2--UNCOVERED BRETHREN-- 1 Cor 11:7
 Physical--Spiritual Christ
 When brethren take part it is to give Him place--Unveiling Christ

N.B.He is to display God's glory
  If man's glory was seen it would  be the woman

3--COVERED SISTERS--Vs. 5,6,10
  "covered"--kata-covered--implies   "well covered"--maybe her glory
should not seen by the angels

 WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ALL THIS

THREE PEOPLE OUT OF PLACE IN.. FALL
EVE--Going ahead of Adam
ADAM--disobeying
GOD--no place among them

THREE OUT OF PLACE AT CORINTH

WOMAN--not covered and speaking
MAN--displaying natural gifts 12:1 and human wisdom
CHRIST--no preeminence among them

Paul is putting in ORDER what was out in order to show the meaning of Eph 3:10
