QUESTION: What or who is a carnal Christian? And are they saved?

ANSWER: These are two or three very important questions.   In 1 Cor. 2:14, we read about the “natural man”. In 3:1 we read about the ‘spiritual and carnal’ men.

The natural man is the unsaved unregenerate man still in his sins and lost. He lives for what he can get and is not concerned about God and eternity.

The spiritual man has been born again and is saved.  He is characterized by the fruit of the Spirit in Gal 5:22.  The evidence of his birth is showing in his life, as he lives and witnesses to others about Christ.

The carnal man is saved, but he lives  like the natural man.  He pursues the same things, lives the same lifestyle, watches the same filthy things on T.V. Some commit adultery and fornication, love pleasure more than the things of God.  Might pray when they go to bed, but show not interest in pursuing the things and people of God.
To see them, they look, talk, and dress like the rest of the world.  They seek the things of self and not of God..  They are what Rom. 12:2 says, “. . . .conformed to this world.. . ..” They live between two worlds. They do not enjoy either of them. They are of all most miserable. If they have been born again, then they are saved. They could possibly never have been born  again. The Lord along knows who are His. If saved, they will be ashamed before the Lord when He comes. 1 John 2:28. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. They will have no rewards and will suffer loss at the Judgment Seat of Christ 1 Cor. 3:15.If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. He will be ashamed of them. Mark 8:38, Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Dear Reader, which are you?  A Natural, Carnal or Spiritual man/person.
