SQL has matured and is now ready to do a great deal of the data cleansing and
transformation that formerly only procedural languages could do.
This presentation will discuss Data Cleansing and Transformation as a single process
and show how SQL plus DataPropagator can together automate an Enterprise Data Topology.
Steve Schaffer is with IBM Business Intelligence Consulting & Services in New York.

Martin Hubel is Senior Vice President of Database-GUYS Inc., and has worked extensively with DB2 since 1985. He has been using DB2 Universal Database on OS/2 and NT since 1993.
Martin develops and teaches advanced DB2 courses, and is a frequent presenter at IDUG and other technical conferences.
DB2 UDB EEE: A DIFFERENT SOUP FOR A DBA'S SOUL
When implementing DB2 in a clustered (MPP) environment, there are a number of important planning decisions to be made with respect to the physical environment.
This presentation will review some of the features of DB2 that are specific to a clustered configuration,
and provide valuable tips for efficient implementation and administration in this environment.
Topics include: effective use of naming conventions; special features of 'db2_all' to run commands on all nodes;
simplifying the complicated task of adding/dropping nodes; moving data across nodes;
creative ways of using special features of 'db2atld' for moving large volumes of data; and backup and recovery.
The presentation will also discuss some of the new features of DB2 UDB 6.1, including Index Adviser and Automatic Summary Tables (AST) to improve performance.
Holo Devnani has many years of experience as a data modeller and DBA. Most recently he has been involved with the implementation of several large database applications,
and is currently the lead DBA on a CRM data warehouse project.
