What is a lady's club anyway? Contrary to popular belief, there
is little difference in the heads other than cosmetics and the
fact that some of the heads are higher lofted to help get the
ball up. Having said that, custom fitting is extremely important
for lady golfers.
Many ladies, not all, have slow, smooth swings that allow them
to take advantage of a very flexible shaft. Typically, ladies
require clubs that are shorter than standard. This is certainly
not true for all ladies. Most female golfers require a flatter
lie (the angle of the head to the shaft) than the average male
golfer. Most female golfers prefer a lighter club. Most also
require a smaller grip.
At Al's Clubhouse we have built custom clubs for many female
golfers and consider this speciality a strength of our business.
Any of the heads in the wood and irons sections can be selected
for use by women, however the industry has designed some heads
specifically for their use.

Like the men's models, Python-W irons feature massive sole widths that follow a reverse progression that gives the No. 4 iron the widest sole (27mm). The wedges still maintain a relatively wide sole at 24mm. The wider soles place more weight low in the head making them easier to hit with higher launch angles.

Logic Lady |

The Logic
Lady irons also have received a makeover for 2003,
and the result is a more playable, more attractive
iron.
The new Logic Lady irons have a slightly lower
blade profile, a lower and more rearward center of
gravity to improve both shot trajectory and game-improvement
performance, and a wider, blended sole that virtually
eliminates the likelihood of the sole digging into
the ground at impact. The Logic Lady irons are now
slightly heavier too, making them ideal for assembly
with shorter length shafts.
Combine all that with the
striking new appearance of the Logic Lady line and
you've got a new incredibly playable club for women
golfers.

702W is a full, deep cavity back iron with greater perimeter weighting from the amount of weight on the sides which means better feel and more distance when hit off-center. The rear weight pad reduces in size as the loft increases down through the set because as loft increases, there is less need for design features that increase trajectory. |
