Classical Singer Elizabeth McDonald holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto and a Masters of Music from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Her opera career was launched in 2001 when she made her professional debut with the Canadian Opera Company. Since then she has performed with the Santa Fe Opera, the National Ballet of Canada, Chorus Niagara, the Toronto Mozart Society and the Off Centre Music Salon. In 2002 she was the first Canadian competitor and finalist at the 4th International Festival of Operatic Singers “Marie Kraja” in Tirana, Albania and a winner of the Great Lakes District in the Metropolitan Opera Competition. She has been featured in Opera Canada magazine, on the TVO series On Stage and on Cogeco Television. A native of Prince Edward County, Elizabeth was the first winner of the William Gardner Connor award at the Quinte Rotary Music Festival and subsequently won the Ontario Music Festival Competition. Elizabeth and her husband, chiropractor Stephen Lippitt, live in the county with their two children.
