In Revelation 20:11, we read of a Great White Throne and a final judgment. Will Christians be judged there for their sins?

ANSWER:
It never ceases to amaze me how people can believe their sins are forgiven, yet they still believe they will be judged later. It makes one wonder if they understand what forgiveness really is. The Judgment Day for the Christian is past. It took place at Calvary. Christ died for our sins. This was God's judgment upon them.

This is only true of a saved person. For the unsaved, He made a propitiation (satisfaction) for their sins. In doing so He made the provision for all men, but actually forgiveness only takes place when the sinner embraces what the Saviour has done.

Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." John 5:24. The word "condemnation" means judgment. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1.

Forgiveness means a complete removal or dismissal of sins. When God forgives He forgets. God says, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 10:16-17.
