SALVATION QUESTION 79

QUESTION 79
Why is there so much confusion when it comes to getting to heaven? Aren't most people going there?

ANSWER:
The confusion come from man and man's own opinion. Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Isaiah 53:6" All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Man is astray from God and each seems to think they know the way back.

First, let me say, that the Bible does not teach that most people are going to heaven. Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Secondly, there is no excuse for anybody. Listen to the Lord Jesus Christ, He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6). He said, "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." (John 10:9) "Paul and Silas told an anxious inquirer," And they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." (Acts 16:31) The word "believe" mean to rely or depend on.

Dear reader, words could not be plainer. Why listen to man or to your own opinions? Listen to Him and trust Him today and you will be delivered from this confusion. Jeremiah 17:5 "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD."
