Can a person be saved without being in Christ?

ANSWER:
If this verse has the heathen in mind, the answer is No! Nobody can be saved apart from knowing Christ. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6. A child, who dies in a state of innocence, can be saved, because He is, "...the lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29.

Those who know they sin, are no longer innocent, so they must repent and believe in order to be saved. In Christ, is in contrast to being, in Adam. "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." 1 Corinthians 15:22. We are all born "in Adam." If we live and die in Adam we are lost forever.  Being born again takes us out of Adam and puts us in Christ. "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17. The "new creature" is literally, a "new creation." It means the Christian is no longer in the Old Creation and in Adam, but in the New Creation and in Christ.

So any sinner that ever gets saved is in Christ. There is no salvation apart from being in Christ. What about you, dear reader, are you in Christ or in Adam? In Adam, you are perishing, in Christ you are living. There is no life in Adam and no death in Christ, spiritually speaking. In Adam, to live and die is to be lost forever in hell. In Christ, is to live and die and go to be with Him forever.
