SALVATION QUESTION 17

QUESTION 17
Many say they are Christians yet they drink, swear, cheat. etc. Are these people really saved?

ANSWER:
Since I am not the Judge of men I don't really know if these people are saved or not. They sure don't live like it, and should be treated as they live. The basic problem with Christianity is that we have too many of these people in it. When the world sees no difference between the so-called Christian and them, they have no desire to become like them. Salvation is by grace through faith, Ephesians 2:8, but Ephesians 2:10 says, "we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works . . . " This verse teaches that when a person is saved that God does a work in them and there will be a change. They are created unto good works. Jesus came to save us from sin. His name was called "Jesus," who shall save His people from their sins - Matthew 1:21. Christians are in a new creation - 2 Corinthians 5:17 "If any man be in Christ he is a new creature (creation) ... "

Christ who has done a work FOR US at the cross does one IN US when we trust Him. The problem with most professors is that they have never repented of their sins. To play church on Sunday will not do. Salvation is something that is with you seven days a week. It should be showing in some degree. A professing Christian like the above should not be regarded and should be witnessed to as an unsaved person.

Dear reader, are you a Christian? Does it really show in your life? Is there some fruit there for God? If not, you likely have serious doubts about being saved. Why not lay aside your doubts and trust fully in the Savior, who can save to the uttermost," Hebrews 7:25.
