SALVATION QUESTION 144

QUESTION 144
Do you feel everybody will be judged for their sins?

ANSWER:
A resounding no! Then why? If we put this to the test of Holy Scripture it will show us how far man is from the mind of God, in regards to this issue. I too, was under the very same impression for some years. I believed we all had to be judged to see how good or bad we had lived, and this would be the deciding factor of whether we should enter into heaven or not. I'm afraid the "Great white throne judgment" is not a matter of God judging us for this reason at all. This judgment is only for sinners who have died without Christ as their Saviour. These are to be banished from God forever. (Matthew 25:41 and Matthew 25:46). For those that have trusted Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Saviour, these are the one's who are destined to an everlasting inheritance with the living Christ. (Hebrews 9:15). The Lord Jesus promised it this way, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth My word and believeth Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation (Judgment), but is passed from death unto life" John 5:24).

The reason any believer will not be judged for his or her sins, is that Christ took that judgment on the cross of Calvary, (2 Corinthians 5:21) and He was judged for those sins. Scriptures tell us this, concerning the believer. "Who His Own Self bare our (the believer) sins in His Own body on the tree" 1 Peter 2:24. And then again, "...but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself." Hebrews 9:26.

Dear reader, "Have you escaped this terrible impending judgment by taking Christ as your Saviour, or are you still in danger of the Judgment? Repent from sin, trust in Christ, and you WILL be saved from such a Judgment.
