SALVATION QUESTION 142

QUESTION 142
Nobody is perfect. How can you or anybody else claim that they are saved?

ANSWER:
There is a difference between my standing, and my condition or state. I am absolutely perfect in my standing before God. "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." Hebrews 10:14. I am "...accepted in the beloved." Ephesians 1:6. This is positional.

The Bible is very clear in stating that everyone is either IN Adam, or IN Christ. "For as in Adam all die; even so in Christ shall all be made alive." 1 Corinthians 15:22. These are two positions in which all are in before God. In Adam, it doesn't matter how good or religious you are, you are never acceptable to God. In Christ all are accepted and perfected forever. "And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 10:17. They are justified, (declared right by the high court of Heaven). "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:" Romans 5:1. Jesus said, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3:36. There are two classes in that verse, those who DO trust in the Son and those who do NOT. The first group HAS ETERNAL LIFE. It is a present possession. It is the kind of life one needs to live to enter into heaven.

For any person to say they are trusting Christ as Saviour, but do not believe they have eternal life, is calling God a liar.

What about you, dear reader? Do you have eternal life? Are your sins blotted out? You have eternal life if you are trusting 100% in the work of Christ and the Word of God. Do this to be saved, TODAY!
