How can I be so sure I am saved when the condition of my life is so up and down?

ANSWER:
This is a question that should be asked by many others, since many have the same experience. The answer is very clear in the Scriptures, that is, if you are really trusting Christ alone for salvation. Your Salvation does not depend on your CONDITION of life, but on you POSITION in Christ.

Confusion comes when you cross the two. Look at this lovely truth; "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." Ephesians 1:6. You will note that it is "accepted IN HIM." This is a position God sees every believer in. They are no longer in Adam where sin and death reigns, but in Christ. Being born again establishes, for us, a RELATIONSHIP with God whereby we become children of His by our faith in Christ. "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:26. Our POSITION and RELATIONSHIP never changes. Our CONDITION and FELLOWSHIP is always changing. If salvation depended on the latter nobody would ever be saved, but "thank the Lord," it depends of our place in Christ and the family of God.

It is a mistake to look for Christ in your life. One must always look at themselves where God sees them, "IN CHRIST." Over 130 times we read "in Christ" in the New Testament. Every true child of God is secure in Christ. To doubt your salvation is to doubt the ability of the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. I rest on such truths as: "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25. "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:28.

Even though my walk with the Lord can be off and on, these truths never change. "He is ABLE," they "shall NEVER perish."
