If Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him, what about the sins I commit after I am saved?

ANSWER:
This is the area of much debate.  There are those who believe that God just forgives your sins up to the time you trust Christ as Saviour. Then, you must make a beeline for it or else. Since without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins, (Hebrews 9:22), blood must be shed for the sins committed after you accept Christ, if the above reasoning is true. That would mean that Jesus would have to die again to take away your sins after accepting Him. This is far removed from the teaching of the Bible and God's wonderful redemption.

When Jesus died for my sins, they were all future at the time. God laid all of them on Him, what are now past, present and future sins. When He forgave me for my sins forty-five years ago, He forgave me for the ones that Jesus died for. Praise the Lord, that was all of them. This takes care of the penalty of sin, which is eternal damnation.

What happens when we sin after we are saved? If in ignorance, and we confess, "...he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins...". 1 John 1:9. If willfully, then He will spank us. (1 Corithians 11:30).

Dear reader, "Are your sins forgiven? Have you trusted the Lord Jesus as Saviour yet. There is no other way. (John 14:6).
