PROPHECY QUESTION 50

QUESTION 50
Why does God allow such things as “Katrina” and “Rita” storms to hit America and destroy homes and kill others.

ANSWER:
God is Sovereign and never allows anything with a cause or purpose. There was another great storm in the Old Testament. A runaway prophet got caught in it, so God halted him. But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. Jonah 1:4

Nahum 1:3 The LORD [is] slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit [the wicked]: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds [are] the dust of his feet.

Some tragedies are judgments of God on the wicked. I understand that one of the cities that was hit the hardest was very wicked. Immorality, crime, murders and gambling was rampant. Maybe God allow this to judge them so others would take heed and repent and turn to Him. It is undeniable that America is turning farther away from God all the time. Many of these troubles could be God’s warning that He will come in greater judgment on a wicked nation. In Genesis 12:1-3 God has special curse and blessings attached to His covenant and promises to Abraham and the Jews. It is no secret that every nation that has reject the Jews have suffered for it. America has been blessed in its beginning by accepting the Jews but now she has pressurized Israel to give land to the Palestine Liberation Organization (P.L.O.) that belongs to Israel by God’s covenant Genesis 17:7-8.

I understand that Olmert want to build some housing in the West Bank area but they are waiting for the approval from America. These storms could be warning to America that they should not tamper with Israel’s land in the way they are. God said “I will bless them that bless thee; and curse them that curseth thee.” Genesis 12:3 The attitude of the world toward Israel is not good, and judgment will eventually come.

Jesus, humanly speaking, was a Jew. All those that repent and trusts Him as Saviour are blessed and those that do not, the wrath of God abideth on the, John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
