PROPHECY QUESTION 5

QUESTION 5
It seemed that Russia made an effort to get Iraq to back out of the Gulf war. Is there any signification of her being a confederate of Iraq?

ANSWER:
That Russia is secretly behind the Arab world is disclosed in their wars with Israel. In most of the Arab-Israeli wars, when it was evident that Israel was going to win, Russia entered in as the peacemaker. In all the five wars with Israel the Arabs were using Russian made military equipment. The majority of Arab military knowledge comes from Russian trainers. Russia kept out of the Coalition effort in the Gulf and remained relatively quiet until it became evident that Iraq was not going to succeed in drawing Israel into the conflict; then she starting crying for a peace agreement.

Biblically speaking, Russia is against Israel being in the land and prospering. In Ezekiel 38, is found an entire chapter dealing with her relationship with Israel in these last days. In Ezekiel 38:2 the word "prince" is translated from Hebrew as "ROSH," this is the word generally believed to be where the name "RUSSIA" came from. This nation from the "north parts," found in Ezekiel 38:15 (literally means "extreme north"). They will come into the land in the final days. In speaking of this northern nation, God says: "After many days thou shalt be visited: IN THE LATTER YEARS thou shalt come into the land." Ezekiel 38:8. She will have two known nations as allies. Persia (now Iran) and Libya, Ezekiel 38:5. She will come into the land of Israel to "take a spoil and to take a prey," Ezekiel 38:12. There is something there she desperately wants. Maybe it's her goods in Ezekiel 38:13, maybe oil, or possibly access to the oil from the Gulf. She will be defeated there in a very supernatural way. "I will call for a sword against him (Russia) throughout all my mountain, saith the Lord God: every man's sword shall be against his brother." Ezekiel 38:21. This means there will be a revolution in their ranks. In addition to this God will send pestilences (diseases) among them. Ezekiel 38:22. Also, He will rain an overflowing rain (floods), great hailstones, fire and brimstone. Ezekiel 38:22. It will be evident to all the world that God has intervened in a very miraculous way and will be known that He is the LORD. Ezekiel 38:23. According to Ezekiel 39:2 only one-sixth of her army will survive. So great will be the slaughter that it will take seven months to bury the dead. Ezekiel 39:12.
