PROPHECY QUESTION 27

QUESTION 27
Will there be war with Israel by the nations, and will they be defeated?

ANSWER:
Israel is very much in the news. They never existed as a nation for twenty-six hundred years until 1948. There is much prophecy about Israel from Genesis 12 to Revelation 20. God has made promises to them and He will keep them. He promised Abraham and his seed the land of Palestine for an everlasting possession. (Genesis 17:8). He promised David a kingdom and a King to set on His throne. (2 Samuel 7:12-13). Christ was born as the Son of David (kingdom rights) and the Son of Abraham (land rights). (Matthew 1:1). God is and will fulfill every promised blessing to Israel. There will be many wars against Israel in the future, but the one in question is the Battle of Armageddon. This is mentioned in Revelation 16:16 by name, and it is referred to in many other places.

The prophet Joel gives details of this: "I will also gather all nations, and will also bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel,..." Joel 3:2. Zechariah 14:2 speaks about the "gathering of all nations against Jerusalem." In Zechariah 14:3 it states, "Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations." In Zechariah 14:4, "His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives." This is all described again in Revelation 19:11 and Revelation 19:20). "And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army." Revelation 19:19. This battle is the climax of the age. He will then set up His kingdom on earth and only the saved will enter into it. (Matthew 18:3 and John 3:3).

My Dear Reader, will you not come into God's ark of safety and be saved today? Christ is the only shelter from that storm. Accept Him today.
