What does the Bible teach about the peace of the Middle East?

ANSWER:
The Bible speaks much about the area, and the nation of Israel. When the Bible says to "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem," (Psalms 122:6) it implies there was, and there is, a tremendous need for it. The Jewish people have disobeyed God. It is because of this disobedience they are being chastised. They are His chosen people. He will fulfill every promise He ever made to them.

Their enemies have always persecuted them. When Isaac was born, Ishmael (the father of the Arab people), mocked (ridiculed) him. (Genesis 21:9). This has been going on ever since. It will go on until the Lord comes back to Israel while their King establishes peace on earth.

God gave to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all of the land from the River Nile in Egypt, to the Euphrates in Iraq for an everlasting possession. (Genesis 15:18 and Genesis17:7-8). Although Abraham is the father of Ishmael the promise was to Isaac, "...for in Isaac shall thy seed be called." Genesis 21:12. "Cast out this bondwoman and her son (Hagar and Ishmael): for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac." Genesis 21:10. "...In Isaac thy seed shall be called." Romans 9:7.

They will go through great trouble yet before they inherit this promise. (Jeremiah 30:7). They will be saved out of it. (Romans 11:26). God has His eye on that land day and night. (Deuteronomy 11:12). He will eventually save them from all of their troubles. In the meantime, God is calling out a people for His name sake. (Acts 15:14).

This is the true Church. You must come as a sinner to Christ in order to belong to it. Your name is then in the Lamb's book of life. Have you trusted Him yet?
