PROPHECY QUESTION 1

QUESTION 1
In Psalms 2:1 we read "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?" Who are the heathen and what is the vain thing they imagine?

ANSWER:
Psalms 2 is a prophecy of the end times when God will restore the kingdom to Israel (Acts 1:6). It is talking about the unsaved nations and their efforts to bring in a kingdom without God and His Christ. God says in Psalms 2:4-5, that He will speak to them in His wrath and vex them in His sore displeasure.

The efforts of man to bring in a Utopia is not new. In Genesis 11, Nimrod started to build a tower and a city. His idea was to rule heaven and earth. God saw their evil imaginations and came down in judgment upon them. He confused their language and scattered them abroad in the earth. Psalms 2, is talking about the modern Nimrods who are imagining the same thing.

The word "rage" is a Hebrew word that means "to be tumultuous" which simply means the nations will come together in great disorder and confusion. This is so distinct in our day that Israel and the Arabs can't even agree on a day to meet or a room to meet in. That this is speaking about the end time is clear. Psalms 2:1-3, is our time; Psalms 2:4-5 is the tribulation time which is coming; Psalms 2:6-9 is the kingdom rule under Christ. The vain thing man is imagining will never develop. Christ is coming and only those who are ready will go.

Will you go with Him? Are you saved? What if He were to come today? Trust Him as your Saviour from sin and be ready when He comes.
