READ Matt 25:1-8
INTRO:Problem with christianity is the people that profess to have it.
TRIMMED= same as "adorned" put in order-
-decorate-put in honour-- Eng: cosmetic
THE LAMP IN SCRIPTURE

ADORNING (TRIMMING)YOUR LAMP
Matt 25:7 Trim--old oil lamps
LAMP HAS THREE PARTS
BASE--for the oil
WICK--soaks the oil and burns
CHIMNEY--that surrounds the flame
TO ADORN YOUR LAMP:
1-BASE must be filled and refilled
with oil "oil" type of the Holy Spirit Eph 5:18 being filled...
How? By His word Col 3:16
By prayer Jude 1:20-Eph 6:18
Matt 25: Their lamps .. out--no oil They needed a refill of oil.
Lamps can go out completely Pr.13:9 -20:20 APPLY Does our lamps need a refill??
2--THE WICK== It needs trimming
The part that soaks up the oil==INNER MAN Eph 3:16-2 Cor 7:1-
It smokes up the chimney and gives not light
APPLY--Does our wicks need trimming?
3--THE CHIMNEY--Needs cleaning (outward man)
If this is dirty it gives no light
LET US QUESTION OURSELVES ABOUT:
Things we are doing--Are they right?
Things we say-- Are they right?
Places we go--Should be there
Things we watch--T.V.
Way we dress--
Does your lamp need oil?
Does it need a trimming
Does it need cleaning?
Jn 5:35--Matt 5:16
The Lord wont fill our lamp if the wick needs trimming
He wont trim the wick if the chimney need cleaning
Once are lamp is trimpped and burning
we should put it on a candlestick and not under a "bed" or "bushel."
