CHRSITAN LIVING QUESTION 65

QUESTION 65:
I am a new Christian, What standard of life should I now live?

ANSWER:
This is an important question, especially when there is practically no standard among Christians today. My advice might be summarized by saying, do the opposite to what most professing Christian do, and you likely will do well.

Some profess to be saved and still live common-law or immorally in other sexual sins. Don’t do it. 1 Thessalonians 4:3. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication. Some still tip the bottle and puff on the smokes, Don’t do it Some dress like harlots, Don’t do it. 1 Timothy 2:9-10. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Some use filthy language and even the Lord’s name carelessly. Don’t do it. Ephesians 4:29, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Some things to do that many others do not. Read your Bible daily and seek the Lord for the day’s guidance in prayer. Job said, Job 23:12. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

Witness to others about the Savior that saved you. Acts 1:8, But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Attend a fellowship of Christians for collective Bible study, prayer, teaching and worship. Hebrews 10:5. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Dear reader, are you also a professing Christians and living is disobedience, which is sin? You too, are most unhappy, not enjoying the world or the Lord. Revelation 3:19. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Repent therfore!
