CHRSITAN LIVING QUESTION 2

QUESTION 2:
What is wrong with Christianity that the world seems to be turning away from it?

ANSWER:
IThe problem is not the world or Christianity, but the ones that profess to have it. There are many professors, but few possessors of Christ and the power of the gospel.

The standard among Christians, so called, is no higher that non-Christians. There was a time when Christians were trying to live separate lives from the world, but now they are no different. Their homes and churches are filled with the things of the world. They talk like, act like and even smell like the world. Jesus said, “ I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” John 17:14

Churches and clergymen are the cause. Many churches have brought in the worldly music and ways. So that many are no more than worldly entertainment clubs. They have the same psychology for teaching, and same secular rock music. Many do not seems to be listening to the word of God. John writes, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17

The Lord Jesus was never popular with the world. The world is anti-God and when the Christian lines up with it they are taking sides against God. James says, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God” James 4:4.

The Christian is commanded; “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” 2 Corinthians 6:17.

Our contact with the world should be for necessary purposes, and to witness to them about Christ. Joining them to win them is not a biblical principle of reaching them.

Are you a Christian? If not, turn to Christ in repentance and trust in Him and be saved today.
