CHRSITAN LIVING QUESTION 16

QUESTION 16:
I have one question, is it possible that a born-again Christian in this life, climb to the level that he does not sin anymore?

ANSWER:
I don't believe this is possible. Every Christian sins in one form or another, but the Bible's concept of the Christian life, is we should not live under it's power. This is implied in the word "commit," (as a habit). "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8.

efore a person is saved, they are said to be under the dominion of sin. "..That they are all under sin." Romans 3:9. The word "under" means, under as a master. But after they are saved they are no longer under the dominion of sin. "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." Romans 6:14. Though a Christian sins, we should not live in it as a habit of life. There is forgiveness and deliverance in Christ. "Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world.." Galatians 1:4. I was thinking on the words of Paul, where he said, "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do." Romans 7:19. Paul's life in Romans 7 was not his normal Christian life. He is talking about "once" Romans 7:9. He most certainly had his faults, but he could say that we "are more than conquerors in Christ." Romans 8:37. The key to this is: "reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:11. In doing this, we can have a constant victory over sin. It would not be good to look at ourselves, and not find something wrong. We would then be so proud and this would be like the sin of Satan. God doesn't look at what a Christian is, in themselves, but what they are in Christ. They look good to Him there.
