Christians are supposed to believe the Bible and yet many of them believe in the "trinity." Since the word is not found in the Bible how can they believe it?

The Bible teaches far more than it actually says. That Christ was a substitute for our sins is undeniable; yet the word substitute is not found in the Bible. 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Corinthians 15:3.

The "trinity" is taught from one end of the Bible to the other. Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God" (Hebrew = Elohim). This title is use of God over 2700 times in the Old Testament. It is a uni-plural in Hebrew grammar. It is not singular or dual, but more than two. We do not have such in our English grammar. It is seen again in the marriage union in Genesis 2:24 . . they (plural) two shall be one (singular). In Deuteronomy 6:4 we read " Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God is ONE Lord." The word "one" in Hebrew is not singular but a uni- plural. Going back to Genesis 1:26, God said "Let US make man in OUR image."US" and "OUR" is plural and not singular. This teaching goes throughout the Bible.

That Jesus is God is clearly taught. Zechariah 12:1, Jehovah speaks. In verse Zechariah 12:10 He says . . . " they (Israel) shall look on ME (Jehovah) whom they have pierced." They pierced Jesus of Nazareth who is Jehovah. He is called God in Hebrews 1:8. "Unto the Son He saith, Thy throne O God is . . . " Thomas said," My Lord and my God . . . " John 20:28. Surely had this not been true Jesus would have rebuked him for such blasphemy. The Holy Spirit is called God and bears the personal attributes of God in the scriptures. He is called God in Acts 5:3-4. He is called Lord in 2 Corinthians 3:17-18. Divine attributes are ascribed to Him in Job 33:4, Psalms 139:7-10 and Luke 1:35. He it is that works with the sinner convicting of sin and revealing Christ to them. Every believer knows the Person of the Spirit.
