DOCTRINE QUESTION 12
QUESTION 12:
ANSWER:
How is it that many religious leaders of our day accept homosexuality if the Bible says it is wrong? Could it be that things have changed since Bible days?
It seems the "gay society" is groping in the dark for something to soothe their aching consciences about their sins. Churches are helping them, in that there are over one hundred gay churches in the world. I would say very kindly, but frankly, any condoning of such a life style exhibits a "reprobate mind." (Romans 1:28). In this chapter God declares that He once gave up a race of people because of this sin. It was this very sin that brought down fire and brimstone from heaven on Sodom. (Genesis 19).
Any society which accepts this sin is sick and extremely sinful. The very nature of it is contrary to nature. This sin is strongly condemned in Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13 and 1 Corinthians 6:9.
The reason many religious leaders accept these people is that they are part of the great apostasy prophesied in these last days. (2 Thessalonians 2:3 and 1 Timothy 4:1). These apostates are spoken of in 2 Peter 2, Hebrews 6, and the Book of Jude. They are part of the "harlot church" of Revelation 17, spoken of there as "Babylon the Great." These people and this system fit very well in the ecumenical movement of our day. It will wax worse and worse according to 2 Timothy 3:13. The Bible and God does not change from time to time. "I am the LORD and I change not." Malachi 3:6
The problem here lies with man, he has changed. To the gay people I would say: God loves you and Christ died for you so you might be saved from your sins. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 some of the Corinthians were such, but saved. God has not given up on this world yet. There is still time. Trust the Saviour and be saved from your sins TODAY.All comments and questions to: Harold Smith
