Similarly, most of the North American model railway magazines contain a list of forthcoming model railway exhibitions for the entire continent. More recently Model Railroader changed to a web version for announcing coming events .
What is shown here, however, are those model railway exhibitions taking place in Canada and the US where information has been received confirming that you can expect to see UK layouts, UK modelling products for sale, or both.
As a modeller, I try to attend any show that is nearby as there is usually something that can be learned and used. Armed with the information from this page you can decide whether to make that special effort to get there if it is not so close by.
If you know of a show which meets these criteria please contact me using
to let me know the name of the show, the sponsors, the dates, location, opening times, admission pri ces, supplementary information, contact information for those interested in obtaining further information and an assessment of what one might see that would appeal to those modelling the UK scene.
RAILFAIR has been a feature of the Ottawa scene since 1978 and is considered by most attendees and exhibitors to be the best organised and best balanced show of its kind. It features British, European and North American layouts and vendors specialising in British, European and North American modelling products and books. Several of the layouts that have been exhibited have featured in the model railway press in Model Railroader, Great Model Railroads, Model Railroad Planning and Model Railways. Visitors have come to expect a high standard of models and displays and they are never disappointed.
You are encouraged to download a Poster to advertise the show locally along with a Map of how to get there.

1. Only railway related items will be accepted.
2. You must prepare a legible list on 8.5ins x 11ins paper.
3. All lists must be made up before item check-in.
4. Blank sheets are available in Lotus, Excel, Wordperfect and PDF. Each file consists of a single model page with space for up to 36 items. If you have more items to sell then more pages will be required and you will be able to use the model
page to meet your own needs.
5. The suggested id# is BXXX where XXX is your BRMNA membership number; OYYY where YYY is your OVAR membership number; or III where III are your initials.
