SALVATION QUESTION 95
QUESTION 95
ANSWER:
I am only young so there is plenty of time. Why press the issue?
We are not pressing anyone into salvation; although we are emphasizing the urgency of the matter. When you stop and think of the destinies involved, it is an urgent matter. Heaven with all its bliss, and hell with all its misery and torment.
There are two reasons why the matter of your salvation is urgent:Hence, the urgency of being saved. After death it will be too late. After the Lord comes it will be too late. "behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2.
- THE UNCERTAINTY OF LIFE. "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." James 4:14. Again, "For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:" 1 Peter 1:24. We all know that this is true. Look at Princess Diane. In a moment of time, gone into eternity. Graveyards have all sizes of graves in them.
- THE COMING OF CHRIST. He is coming again. He said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:2-3. The last recorded words of Jesus Christ are: " He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly." Revelation 22:20.
Are you ready? Trust the coming of our Saviour, for we never know the hour.
