SALVATION QUESTION 75

QUESTION 75
If I am saved how will I know it for sure?

ANSWER:
Many think, hope and believe, they are saved because of some experience or feeling they may have had, however these cases are a dime a dozen. Thomas said, "..Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe." John 20:25. He wanted to see and feel something. He would not believe the word spoken. The assurance of salvation is based on facts, not feeling or seeing something. The facts are all in the word of God.

Faith is believing what God says. Assurance comes by faith, not feelings or seeing. God has spoken. John 3:36. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life..." There are two things here you must do to be saved, and know that you are saved. First, believe on the Son. This means to trust Him to save you. God then says, "...hath everlasting life." You are saved and know it, because you have trust in Christ. and you believe God's promise. The Spirit then witnesses to your spirit that you are a child of God. (Romans 8:15).

What about you dear reader? Do you know for sure that you are saved? A salvation you don't know that you have, is hardly worth having. Trust Christ and believe God's promises and be sure of heaven.
