SALVATION QUESTION 50
QUESTION 50
ANSWER:
How can a sinner get into heaven in the light of Revelation 21:27?
The verse in the question above reads, "And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever, worketh or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."
Heaven is a perfect place and all those that go there must be likewise perfect. Since man is a sinner, and most imperfect, he needs to be made perfect by God in order to live with Him forever. This is what redemption is all about. For by one offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified, Hebrews 10:14. The word "perfected" means to bring to completion. When Christ died for sins He provided full forgiveness. This means He has made provision for the complete removal of all sins. This would make the partaker of this provision "perfect" through His work. The problem that confronts man is, how can I get the benefits of this work? This is where the way of salvation comes in. It is generally believed that man must be really good to get these blessings. Romans 4:5, makes it clear, "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifies the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness" Those who trust Christ alone are said to be righteous in Him. They are ready for heaven. "He hath made them accepted in the Beloved," Ephesians 1:6. This is a believer's standing in Christ "Complete in Him," Colossians 2:10.
What about you? Have you acknowledged your sin and need of Him?
