How can I be sure that I have the right kind of faith to be saved?

ANSWER:
There are three kinds of faith in the New Testament of which two are evidently and positively worthless.

We read in 1 Corinthians 15:14 about a Vain Faith. In this portion it has to do with trusting a Christ who died for our sins BUT never rose again. 1 Corinthians 15:14 says, “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching is vain, and our faith is also vain” (empty, worthless). A Vain Faith then is trusting any thing that cannot save. Trusting in a religion, church, baptism, your works, law or yourself is a Vain Faith that will not save. The reason is clear because the objects you trust in cannot save.

Then in James 2:26 we read of a Dead Faith which cannot save. In James 2:4, he says if a man says he has faith can faith save him? The answer is evident, it cant. The word “dead” means “inactive”, “passive”, “not in operation”, James says that it is useless. The word “believe”, equal to faith, is a verb. A verb is an action ~ word. Faith alone in the blood of Christ saves, but faith is never alone. It always acts. Two illustrations in this chapter are Abraham offering Isaac his son and Rahab helping messengers on their way. Both had actions that were evidences of their faith.

Then there is True Faith in Christ that saves. John 3:16 says ...“whosoever Believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. It is putting your trust for salvation in Christ alone that saves. Anything more is too much and any thing less is not enough, but trusting Him 100% will save.

It is not a question of having the right Kind of Faith but having your faith in the right object, which is Christ, that saves. The same kind of faith you have in other things that cannot save, can be put in Christ and it will save. The difference isn't the faith, but the object that it is in.

Trust Him with all your heart and be saved today. Have you heard and understood the message of salvation through the blood of the Lord Jesus? Have you believed in your heart? Have you really trusted your soul to Him for salvation? If so, then you have faith. If not do it today.
