The intellectuals of this world tell us it's impossible that Christ was born of a virgin. How could this be?

ANSWER:
The intellectuals tell us many things which are not true. They tell us all things started with a "big bang." "Big bang" denotes chaos, not the orderly earth in which we live. The virgin birth, or conception, is not hard to believe when you consider that it is clearly stated in the inspired word of God. "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14. This same verse is also quoted in association with the birth of Christ in Matthew 1:23. The Word of God is inspired. "All scripture is given (not just written) by inspiration of God..." 2 Timothy 3:16.

The word "inspiration" literally means that God expired the very words. The virgin birth is not hard to believe when your concept of God is correct. "He doeth great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number." Job 5:9. "God thundereth marvelously with His voice; great things doeth He, which cannot be comprehended." Job 37:5. If God could take the dust of the earth and make this fearfully and wonderfully body, (Psalms 139:14), then breathing into him the spirit of life, making him a living soul, why should it be so incredible to believe in the virgin birth?

I could not explain how God made a tree, but I have no problem believing it. It is far more sensible to believe what the Bible teaches, rather then we came into being by a "big bang." "Sirs,... I believe God." Acts 27:25. This is vitally true not only for the virgin birth, but for the new birth. "Ye must be born again" John 3:7. Only by trusting in the finished work of Calvary is this possible. Have you trusted Him?
