The Bible speaks of "things that accompany salvation." (Hebrews 6:9). What does this mean?

ANSWER:
Here is the full verse; "But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak." Hebrews 6:9. To look at it in the context in the Book of Hebrews, it is speaking of certain Jews who had embraced Christ and many were showing no signs of being saved. Some were even denying Christ and trampling under foot the blood. (Hebrews 10:29)

The writer in Hebrews 6, writes to the Christians that this is seen in the "we" in Hebrews 6:9. He also speaks of the "they" in Hebrews 6:4-6. In view of the fact many had fallen away, he is persuaded the real Christians will display characteristics which shows their salvation. There are many today that profess Christianity, but show no evidence at all of being saved. Religion is a poor substitute for the fruit of the Spirit. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23.

Is your salvation showing? Do people you work with know that you are a Christian? Maybe you have never yet been born again. Jesus said, "Ye MUST be born again," several times. He said, "Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:7. There is no hope without Christ as your personal Saviour.
