What is the "Day of the Lord ?" It is the same as "the Lord's Day in Revelation 1:10?

ANSWER:
Many teach that they are the same. They say John had a preview of the coming Day of the Lord and they could be right; but I believe otherwise.

The "Day of the Lord" is spoken of throughout the Bible and refers to a time yet to come when He will come first to judge and then to reign. There are three prophetic days in the Bible. "The day of Christ" Philippians 1:6, 1 Corinthians 1:8 and 1 Corinthians 5:5. This is always spoken of in the future. It is "the day" the Lord Jesus comes to get His own. It is often called the Rapture. These and other verses speak of the work of sanctification going on until "the Day of Christ. Immediately after this begins "the Day of the Lord," (Joel 1:15; Malachi 4:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:2 and 2 Peter 3:10). This will begin with a time of trouble for Israel and the world; then Christ will reign over Israel and the world for 1000 years. Revelation 20:2-5. After the latter begins, then "the Day of God." (2 Peter 3:12). This is when Christ delivers up His kingdom to the Father and God is all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:28). This will bring in the eternal kingdom of God on earth. The "Lord's Day in Revelation 1:10 is likely to be the first day of the week. This is the first day of a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17). It marks the rest which God has found in the death, burial, and resurrection, of His Son. The old Sabbath rest was broken by sin in the fall of Adam; God's rest now is found in His Son, and this is where a believer in Christ finds rest for their soul. Matthew 11:28.

Have you entered that rest yet? It is only through repentance and faith in Christ that you can.
