Where is Christ in the Book of Esther?

ANSWER:
The Book of Esther does not mention the name of the Lord or God and is looked at by critics as not belonging in the Canon of Scripture. Christ is in that book, but not mentioned by name. If you read the Genealogy of Christ in Luke, you will see that He goes right back to Adam. One of the reasons for this is that He was first mentioned as becoming a man in Genesis 3:15, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. The Seed of the woman was Christ. So all those genealogies you read in the Old and New Testaments are there for the expressed purpose of bring the Seed of the woman into the world. This genealogy went briefly through Seth, Genesis 4:25, then Shem – Abraham – Isaac – Jacob – Judah – David and it went 42 generations in Matthew that brought Christ from Abraham to His birth.

Now, the Book of Esther is basically a story of a young Jewish woman, who married the king and her uncle Mordecai, who was also a Jew. A wicked man name Haman tried to destroy all the Jews and plotted a scheme to destroy all of them. Esther 3:6, And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

Esther was brought to this place for a reason, ”and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14. It was through her and her uncle Mordecai that the plan of Haman was reversed and the Jews were not destroyed by Haman. He was hanged on his own gallows. Hence, Esther and Mordecai saved the Jewish line that Christ came from. God’s ways are past finding out, because He is God and knows all things. How marvellously He work in the Book of Esther.
