QUESTION 56:
My question is, should a Christian donate his organs to others at death - to family members or anybody else?

ANSWER:
Though the scriptures say nothing direct about donating organs at death to others, it does have much to say about the body.

The body of a Christian does not belong to him/her. 1 Corinthians 6:19, What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. The best answer to the question is to use a bit of common sense with the scriptures. Are we to do as we please about the Temple of the Spirit and God’s property? Since it is not to be cast into hell fire would it be proper to cremate it? The body belongs to the Lord. I do not personally believe that it should be implanted into another or be cremated. A believer is not headed body and soul to hell fire.

The Bible does not deal with this modern invention of man, however, the general principles of the Bible would teach that the body of a Christian is part of a future redemption (Romans 8:24)

1 Corinthians 15:38: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. I gather from this, that every part of our own body will be raised in glory.

Dear reader, if you are not saved, your body and soul will be cast into the lake of fire. Read Matthew 10:28. Better get right with the Lord, by repenting of your sins and trust the precious blood of Christ that was shed for you.
