FALSE DOCTRINE QUESTION 1

QUESTION 1:
What should one do when people comes to your door with teachings that are not according to the word of God?

ANSWER:
It is not hard to guess who these people might be, seeing there are not too many who go from door to door.

This is a good question and has very clear Bible answers. Many listen to everybody, and then they end up in a state of confusion. If they would only listen to sound Bible advise, this would not happen. "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone into the world." 1 John 4:1. There was a definite warning to put them all to the test. Here you will read that the test follows: "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: And every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world." 1 John 4:2-3. The phrase, "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh," could only mean three things:
In 2 John 1:9 this is called the doctrine of Christ. Any error on these three counts is false teaching. You are not to invited them in, or bid them God speed (blessings). You are dealing with a false prophet. "Receive him not into your house," this is a clear command. This would encourage them in their teachings and would make you a partaker with them in it. "Whosoever confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God." 1 John 4:15.
