Who are God's chosen people?

ANSWER:
Generally speaking they are said to be the Israel of the Old Testament. In Romans 9:4-5, they are said to be the recipients of the blessings of God to them pertaineth the adoption, (future placing of sons), and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises, whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came. They are not only the chosen people of God but especially privileged and blessed in their generations. Deuteronomy 7:6 speaking to Israel He says, "For thou are an holy people unto the Lord thy God: for the Lord thy God hath CHOSEN THEE to be a special people unto Himself, above all the people upon the face of the earth." There are many Old Testament scriptures that say the same thing. God has chosen a people from Abraham through his son Isaac through his son Jacob and through his twelve sons who make up the nation called Israel. These are especially Gods chosen people.

However there is another group of people that are especially chosen of God. This is the present day church of born-again believers. These are NOT THE ISRAEL, His chosen of the Old Testament, but a new creation altogether in Christ Jesus 2 Corinthians 5:17. 1 Peter 2:9 the believers of this present age are said to be "a chosen generation." In Ephesians 1:4 believers are said to be "CHOSEN IN HIM." This word chosen has to do with the purposes of God and not necessarily their destinies.

You can be one of God's chosen ones, if you put your trust in Christ as your Saviour.
